We are Advasec!

My name is 𝐋𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐤 𝐙𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐤, an environmental engineer by profession but by passion the CEO of a cybersecurity company - AdvaSec. I have worked as the Executive Vice President of Pro Equipment and am a co-founder of Corncob. Both of these are centred around water and wastewater treatment. 

My cousin - a cyber security expert, is instrumental in my choosing this career. It started by giving him insights into the technicalities of water utility operations and wastewater management. Along the way, we jammed about ‘𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠’ and ‘𝐜𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬’. 

As I got closer to reality, potential cybersecurity threats to the utility ecosystem made me nervous. 𝘈𝘴 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘤𝘺𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 - 𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘖𝘭𝘥𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘳 𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘢, 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘪𝘱𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘑𝘉𝘚 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘱.

𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞’𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧. 

𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 “𝘞𝘏𝘌𝘕” 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘵 “𝘐𝘍”. 

I knew right then that I had to step in and protect MY PEOPLE. I took it up as a personal challenge to set up a cybersecurity company because I couldn't let the hackers get the better of us!
